My Background
A passion to serve has how you can sum up my working career. After High School, I joined the United States Navy. I subsequently attended Saint Cloud State University where I graduated with honors in Criminal Justice. After receiving my Bachelor's, I continued my service as a police officer which I still serve today. However, in 2011 I served as a City of Ramsey Council Member for four years as well.
In my personal time, I find peace in nature. Whether it is in the woods, or on the water, I am truly in my element where the tallest structure is a Norway Pine or even a King Palm tree. I am a firm believer in finding a mental place of refuge for overall wellness.
MY EXPERIENCE
Background & Expertise
POLICE OFFICER
In this position, I have been a patrol officer, Investigator, and Fleet and Property Manager.
In addition to the natural role a police officer has in conflict resolution, I specialized in property crimes, computer-related investigations, Executive Protection, and community outreach.
RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
As an elected official I was responsible for an approximately 10 million dollar budget and appropriations. Working with fellow elected officials at the local, state, and federal level on transportation issues. And was also chairperson of the personnel committee. I did not seek re-election to concentrate on furthering my education.
VOLUNTEER
Have been an active volunteer in my community including a Board Member for Youth First, a Community of Promise. An active volunteer with the Salvation Army's Yearly Holiday fundraiser, and a member of the City of Ramsey's Happy Days Committee.

From fraud to threats, my years of experience in computer related investigations is vast. Imaging hard drives, IP origination, and web flow are just some of the techniques used to help identify suspects in criminal cases
SITE SECURITY
Emergency preparedness, threats, egress, ingress, and surveillance locations are just some of the site security related skills I have acquired in my nearly 20 years in law enforcement.

One of the more overlooked skills in security management is the ability to build partnerships within and outside the organization. I have a proven record of working with folks from all different backgrounds and skill sets to ensure that partnerships enhance the organization

MBA 616 COURSE
The hands-on projects were either enjoyable, rewarding, or immensely frustrating depending on the software and familiarity. In addition to the two highlighted below, I enjoyed the IBM SPSS Modeler program as well.
TABLEAU
Although I was skeptical of visuals when I started the project, I found the ease of use of the Tableau software, along with the colorful graphs very impressive. I anticipate that I will continue using the program at my employment to identify crime trends through vivid visuals
EXCEL
Prior to my MBA studies, my experience with Excel was limited to using them for roster assignments at special events for my employer. Learning new formulas, nested functions, Scenario Manager, and using the Solver will be beneficial as I pursue my career change.
